Department Highlights
Infrastructure
The department is equipped with a well-maintained classroom. The department has an Interactive Panel installed in the classroom. It enables the teacher to use an audio-visual medium to demonstrate empirical evidence while teaching abstract concepts and theories. The department has an exclusive notice board to display important information regarding academic and co-curricular activities and also showcase students’ creative expression.
Curriculum plan of the department
The curriculum of the discipline of Sociology is entirely designed by the parent university i.e. Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh. The curriculum has been designed in such a way that a graduate in sociology would be sufficiently competent in the field to undertake further discipline studies, as well as to begin domain-related employment.
Seminars & Workshops
The department actively organizes seminars, discussions, workshops etc. on various themes to acquaint the students with the ongoing debates. The department collaborates with other departments, and committees to organize these activities. It also consistently pursues collaboration with other colleges and departments.

Program & Course Outcomes
The students graduating with the Degree B.A. (Honors/Research) in Sociology should be able to:
(i) Core Competency: Students will acquire core competency in the subject and in the allied subjects.
(ii) Systematic and coherent understanding of the fundamental concepts and all other related allied subjects of Sociology.
(iii) Students will be able to use the evidence-based approach to explain the sociology problems.
(iv) The students will be able to understand the characterization of materials.
(v) Students will be able to understand the basic principles of sociology used to understand sociological problems. Students will be able to demonstrate the experimental techniques and methods of their area of specialization in Sociology.
