Keeping in mind the criteria of NEP in Sariya college, Suriya Science (along with Arts & Commerce) faculty was started in the college from the year 2023. So that students can get more options in choosing the subject.

Multi-disciplinary approach is a unique method in teaching-learning programme. It is a unique way of curriculum integration to illustrate a theme, subject or issue with the help of divergent subject. In a multi-disciplinary curriculum, multiple- discipline are used to study the same topic or content. It is a powerful method of teaching that crosses the boundaries of a discipline or a curriculum in order to enrich and enhance the subject area.

Sariya College, Suriya is permanently affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Hazaribag and follows the curriculum of VBU. During 2015-18, (Choice Based Credit System) CBCS system was introduced by the university and followed by our college in UG programmes. Our state govt. and parental University have implemented NEP-2020 since the session 2022-26 that will offer multiple entry and multiple exits in undergraduate education while maintaining the flow of learning. It is now Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP). Under this programme, a student has to study different papers out of Humanities and Social Science, Natural and Physical Science, Commerce and Management, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Application stream. Our college envisions to transform itself into a holistic multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary institution. A Student of Sem.-I, has to study/select a major paper (Honours), an Introductory Regular Course/Minor paper leading to Minor which was previously called subsidiary or generic paper, a paper named Understanding India, Entrepreneurship, Health & wellness, Yoga Education and Sports and fitness and finally a paper named M.I.L (Hindi/English).
